Privacy Policy for Pipeline Dashboard Extension

Last Updated: November 26, 2025

This Privacy Policy describes how the Pipeline Dashboard Extension (“we,” “us,” or “the extension”) collects, uses, and handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about the extension’s functionality.

1. Data Collection and Use

The Pipeline Dashboard Extension is designed to help you manage tasks directly within the Gmail interface. To provide this service, the extension handles the following types of data:

  • Task Data: The extension fetches and displays task information (such as titles, descriptions, notes, and links) from a Google Sheet that you configure. This data is retrieved via a Google Apps Script Web App that you deploy.

  • Email Content (Contextual): To link tasks to specific emails, the extension may access email subject lines and message IDs from the Gmail interface. This allows you to open the relevant email directly from a task card.

  • User Preferences: The extension stores local preferences, such as the open/closed state of the sidebar, the position of the floating icon, and your chosen theme (light or dark mode), directly in your browser.

We do not store your task data, email content, or personal information on our own servers. All data is either stored locally in your browser or resides in your own Google Sheet and Gmail account.

2. Permissions Justification

The extension requests the following permissions to function correctly:

  • Host Permission (mail.google.com): This is required to inject the sidebar and dashboard interface directly into the Gmail web page, allowing you to view and manage tasks without leaving your inbox.

  • Host Permissions (script.google.com, script.googleusercontent.com): These are necessary for the extension to securely communicate with your deployed Google Apps Script Web App, which acts as the bridge to your Google Sheet data.

  • Storage: This is used to save your local preferences (e.g., theme, panel position) so they are preserved across browser sessions.

  • Tabs & Scripting: These permissions enable the extension to open the full dashboard in a new tab and to programmatically navigate to a specific email thread within Gmail when you click on a task.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

  • We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your data to any third parties.

  • The extension’s functionality relies on Google services (Gmail, Google Sheets, and Google Apps Script). Data handled by these services is subject to Google’s own privacy policies.

4. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in the extension’s functionality or for legal or regulatory reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
